North Honshu(Tohoku)

The North Honshu region consists six prefectures as 

Aomori,Iwate,Akita,Miyagi,Yamagata,Fukushima.

Compared to the Tokyo area, the Tohoku region has a higher northern latitude, which means that the snow melts later and the cherry blossom season is later, so it is possible to see cherry blossom in some places in May. The best time to hike is from June to October. In winter, there are many ski resorts where you can enjoy powder snow. This is a place where you can feel the real Japanese countryside, with many sights that have not yet been turned into tourist attractions.
